Hours of Operation

 

Animal Control Officers are available from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday for regular service calls. (Hours may be extended until 11:00 pm depending upon staffing.) Animal Control Officers are available for emergencies only during evenings, weekends, and holidays and are dispatched via 911.

The office is open to turn in, reclaim or adopt animals Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5 pm (closed for lunch noon to 1 pm), and Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The kennel is open to the public for viewing adoptable animals Monday through Friday from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. Viewing animals in the morning depends upon cleaning and staffing.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide safe,humane shelter for unwanted stray, abused and impounded animals in accordance with state regulations.  The department is responsible for assuring the timely and effective enforcement of the county's ordinances and state laws.   The deptartment strives to protect the public's health and safety from vicious, sick or injured animals, to educate the public about responsible animal care and ownership and to reduce the number of unwanted animals in the community.

We are located at 1411 S. Madison Avenue, Monroe, behind the Walton Co. Sheriff's Department. From Hwy.11, turn onto S. Madison Avenue. We are the 5th drive on the right. Follow the blue signs.
