We had over 300 volunteers at this year's Rivers Alive event.  We gather at Nowell Recreation Center at 8:00am on Saturday, October 17th, where we enjoyed buscuits from Chick-fil-A and coffee from Starbucks.

After a brief welcome from Elaine Oakes, our director, the troops set off to their designated locations.  Locations included Matthew's Park, Snows Mill Roard, Monroe Jersey Road, Dean Hill Road, New Hope Bridge Road, and John T. Briscoe Reservoir. 

This event proved to be extremely successful as we collected 1,500 pounds of trash!  One group even found a 2009 MAHS class ring; it was, of course, returned to its rightful owner.
