2013 Training Schedule

The training schedule for 2013 is published below. The classes in italics are mandatory for all P.O.S.T. certified law enforcement. The schedule is subject to change and classes may be added. All classes will be conducted in the classroom/conference room unless otherwise noted.
The firing range is open for all Deputies on the first Friday of every month from 0800 until 1200 and the last Saturday of every month from 0900 until 1600.

Terrorism Update – Chief John Gaissert, Commerce Police Department

The training division of the Walton County Sheriff's Office is responsible for assuring that training is conducted in accordance with the Peace Officers Standards and Training of Georgia and the standards of the Sheriff in order to properly serve the citizens of Walton County.  Georgia law enforcement officers must maintain a specific level of training per year as per the Official Code of Georgia Annotated 35-8-21.
